The Story

We are The Art of Cinema – or Jeremy and Catherine to our friends – and we run pop-up exhibitions of vintage and modern cinema posters in the foyers and cafes of cinemas and other arts venues.  The private collection is huge and consists of all genres of movie posters:  from Hitchcock films, featuring the particular graphic design genius of Saul Bass and other classic vintage images; through to modern redesigns by new young designers who have reimagined the classic images on silk screen prints.  All the images are original and all are for sale.

The collection has been put together by Jeremy who is a former cinema manager and film aficionado and whose passion for cinema posters has led him to amass his collection of over 1000 original and vintage film posters.  Now a trained conservation framer he frames them in order to protect and preserve their delicate ink and paper.  The frames are hand-built to size and hold the posters free floating (ie not stuck down) in an acid-free mount board, all things which should allow the posters to be both preserved and to continue to rise in value.

Many avid cinema fans now love to collect posters, and many of our best known images and designs have become collectors items.  Prices have rocketed as interest in this images has grown. As we only sell our pieces as a one-off and we ONLY sell our posters framed, we do not display our prices on the website as prices will fluctuate according to availability and rarity and condition of each image.   Tell us about the images you like and we will give you all the information about the poster and the cost of each individual item, which will include the cost of framing and preserving the image, and the price of delivery.

We also run a finders service, if there is a particular film or poster of interest drop us a line and we are happy to put our specialist buying knowledge to work to find you the poster of your dreams.
