The Ladykillers is a classic from 1955, a black comedy crime film from Ealing Studios featuring the wonderful Mrs Wilberforce. Interestingly the writer William Rose alleges he dreamt the film’s storyline and awoke remembering the details clearly enough to win a BAFTA award for the Best British Screenplay.
